- 学園 [gaku.en] University, a group of related schools (garden of schools)

- 留学生 [ryuu.gaku.sei] International/Exchange Student (lit: away-from-home student)
- 1年生 [ichi.nen.sei] First year student
- 2年生 [ni.nen.sei] Second-year student
- 3年生 [san.nen.sei] Third-year student
- 生徒 [sei.to] students, pupils
- 学生 [gaku.sei] students, school-attendees
- 先輩 [sem.pai] Senior (i.e. one’s senior relative to speaker)
- 後輩 [kou.hai] Junior (i.e. one’s junior relative to speaker)
- 組 [kumi] the class that a student is in (groups of students which take all the same classes, remaining in this group all years of school)
- 5組 [go kumi] Special Needs education class
- クラブ [ku.ra.bu] club, afterschool activity – e.g. baseball, brass band, English Conversation, astronomy

- 校長 [kou.chou] Head of school (lit: school chief)
- 教頭 [kyou.tou] Head of teachers (lit: educational head)
- 教師 [kyou.shi] Instructor, Teacher, Educator (lit: educating professional)
- 担任教師 [tan.nin kyou.shi] Homeroom Teacher, the teacher that is the head of a kumi for all their years in a particular school (lit: teacher in charge)

- 校長先生 [kou.chou sen.sei] School Headmaster (similar to Principal)
- 教頭先生 [kyo.utou sen.sei] Head Teacher (similar to Vice Principal)
