What To Wear?
Dressing for our ceremony, our reception, and our city.
Clothes for the Event
We are being married outdoors in May in a park in Portland, OR, and the reception is in a dance hall. Therefore, we advise that you wear light and comfortable clothing that is okay to get dusty or grass-stained and shoes that can withstand slight muddiness and turf. Because Electra loves dancing (and Roy supports her in this), she also advises that you bring clothing that you would feel comfortable dancing in: light, supportive shoes or attractive socks, comfortable slacks or a flowy skirt etc. etc. The DJ is playing quick-tempo and dynamic dance music -- Electronica, Belly Dancing/Middle Eastern Pop, Latin, and possibly a few contemporary Swing songs.
Electra also strongly recommends wearing accents that jingle, sparkle, and/or swish.

Clothes For Roaming the City
Portland can be cool and breezy one minute and swelteringly sunny and hot the next. Literally -- a shift in cloud cover and the temperature changes by at least 10 degrees Fahrenheit. And because its May, there may be rain.
Bring layers and loose clothing. Sweaters, a windbreaker with a hood, and sandals or walking shoes like sneakers. (Don't forget that its totally okay to wear socks with your sandals!) Also, check the weather station or other weather reporting things the week before so you know what the trend has been.
Hopefully it will be warm and sunny the entire time you visit; but if its not, don't be afraid of a little rain! Just dress with preparation and walk right out into it.
